Robotics and Autonomous systems (RAS) at the Dutch Army

With all of the developments in drones, unmanned ground vehicles, remote-controlled weapon systems and AI, it’s easy to assume that the world is degrading into complete robotic warfare. A fear perhaps misguided by extrapolating capabilities that are unrealistic. So what is possible? And how does the moral compass of the men and women involved in this field are taken into account?

The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS) and Koninklijke Landmacht have developed a documentary on the current state of RAS, future developments and moral compass.

We believe the Dutch Army can be proud to be at the forefront of innovation using practical experiments with unmanned systems to research the impact of these systems on the modern battlefield.

Here at COBBS we have contributed to the innovation of the Dutch Army in the past by delivering robots for missions in Afghanistan and Mali.
In the future, we strive to continue this relationship in the field of autonomous systems.
